Frequently Asked Questions

How much do treatments cost?

Treatment cost  is $150 per visit. The first visit has an additional initial evaluation cost of $30.

Are Myo-Postural Treatments covered by Alberta Health Care or other Insurance plans?

Most private health care plans do re-imburse to the patient, the cost or part of the cost, usually up to an annual maximum. Some plans may require a doctor's prescription, other plans don't. Please ask your Insurance Company as to your plan details. Sunlife insurance does not cover any treatment costs.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Cheques.

Is there a recovery period after the treatment?

There is generally no recovery period required. Most patients feel great after MyoPostural Therapy, free of pain or symptoms and are able to carry on life just like they could prior to their accident.  We suggest limiting any physical activity for 24 hours or longer so that your body has time to accept the new posture.

Will I be able to drive afterward?

Most patients are able to drive after the treatment, but please be alert to any changes in your reactions when you first drive.

Patients who have been in high levels of chronic pain, or who have had severe sleep deprivation, may be so relaxed after they wake up, that they may miss signs or intersections or have drastically slowed reactions. For such patients, we suggest you bring along someone who can drive for you after.

Some patients feel on a euphoric "high" after they wake up and so may feel carefree or careless. Such patients should allow extra time relaxing in the clinic, prior to driving. Other patients feel totally correct that day, but feel very tired the next day and for several days after that. This is usually not like the chronic fatigue they felt before, but a relaxing type of tiredness, as the body is shedding the symptoms, replenishing its energy and rebuilding.

Does Myo-Postural Whiplash Therapy correct other problems apart from whiplash?

Yes, Myo-Postural Therapy rebalances distrotions in the body which cause backpain, headaches, sore hips and many other pains.  Once the distrotions are rebalanced the body mechanics are corrected and these types of pains are eliminated or reduced.

How long does a treatment take?

Please allow 90 minutes for the first treatment and 75 minutes for each subsequent treatment.

How long does it take to get well and how often do I need to return?

Most people need 3-5 treatments over the course of 2 weeks or more.  Typically you will see improvement and feel relief in the first treatment.  The patients in the worst shape need approximately 8-12 treatments, since they have had many traumas and years of physical compensation.  After recovery, I recommend return treatments only every 6 months to maintain proper alignment or until another trauma.

Can Myo-Postural give relief to those suffering from Fibromyalgia?

Yes, people with fibromyalgia divide into two groups.  Many have had pain BEFORE they had symptoms of depression, fatigue etc. These people get better with Myo-Postural Therapy and this is generally all they need to get better again. The others have had malaise, poor health, and fatigue BEFORE they had pain. For this last group Myo-Postural Therapy is only part of the answer to recovery.

How do your results differ from other treatments?

Patients who have done other therapies for years have the same postural distortions now as they did after their accident.  MyoPostural Therapy reverses the root cause of the musculo-skeletal pain, resulting in long lasting results.

Should I see my family doctor before Myo-Postural?

Yes, we would like to work under your doctor’s Prescription.  Despite no external signs, there may be internal injury.  Some medical conditions can alter recovery and symptoms.

How are Myo-Postural treatments done?

We only use our hands for pressure on up to 250 muscles to rebalance your body.  There are no stretches, machines, or manipulation.
