Charles Goodhart is owner of the Lochend Clinique. He first graduated from the University of Calgary with a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering. He then went on to study Massage Therapy to become a Registered Massage Therapist and trained under Lise Goodhart to become a MyoPosturologist. He has been treating patient for 9 years with MyoPostural Treatment.
Myo-Postural™ Therapy, under development since 1990, is based on Lise Goodhart’s experience treating handicapped children in chronic pain in the 1970’s. Standard therapies gave poor solutions even with expensive therapy equipment.
Lise Goodhart was thus forced to determine what really did not work correctly with each individual child and then has to determine what could be done. She developed formidable palpation skills and the ability to visualize what was taking place in their bodies. She was able to get progress where there had been none previously. Only now is scientific understanding catching up to give explanations of this work done 40 years ago.
In the 1980’s, Lise Goodhart began to apply these methods and was obtaining improvement with people in chronic pain after accidents, which had done years of previous therapy. In the 1990’s, after an industrial injury giving severe pain, Lise Goodhart's husband became the ‘guinea-pig’. Applying what she learned on her husband, to car accident victims, MyoPostural Therapy took form. MyoPostural concepts were developed in complete isolation from all other therapists, books and research publications. Her sole ‘teacher’ was what she determined from the bodies of patients. Now, we are finding in the scientific record and vehicle crash testing, scientific support of the findings we have made in the past 20 years of clinical research on about 10,000 patients.
